Sara
- Sales Advisor
Sara joined the team early in 2007. She covers a variety of duties - both in
the shop and in the plantaria. She also works as a freelance photographer
and part-time lecturer in darkroom processes. In her spare time, she likes
playing poker and is a big fan of snooker. |

Mark
- Delivery Driver
Mark has been our Delivery Driver for over four years. He is a Gloucester
boy born and bred. He enjoys working outdoors and meeting the customers to
whom he delivers, and he finds their gardens interesting and different. In
the past, Mark ran his own fruit and veg shop and he was also a keen rugby
player in his youth. In his spare time, Mark likes fishing, watching most
sports, and country walks. |

Rowena
- Plant Sales Advisor
Rowena has worked at Norton since 2003. She's loved plants from an early age
and remembers taking in wild and cultivated garden flowers when a pupil at
Elmore Primary School. Her mother was a keen gardener and her father from a
family of farmers, so Rowena believes she caught the gardening bug in the
womb. She has a passion for Japanese Maples and keeps a mini Westonbirt, in
pots, at home. She particularly likes growing them from seed. Rowena has two
grown-up children, two still at school, and a partner she classifies as her
fifth child. She also has two granddaughters.

James
- Sales Advisor
James has worked at Norton Garden Centre for two years and worked at the
site's previous garden centre, Twiggs, before that. He enjoys the people and
the happy atmosphere at the garden centre and the varied jobs both inside
and out. James lives in Longlevens but grew up in Putney and in Dorset.
While in Putney, he lived under the Heathrow flight path and is now able to
identify an aeroplane simply from the sound of its engines. When not at
work, James enjoys cooking, photography, music and, of course, aeroplanes.

Julie
- Sales Advisor
Julie's parents have been growers for 55 years and one of Julie's early
memories is watching flowers being wrapped for delivery to Cheltenham train
station. She lived in Norton from the age of 6 but now lives in Tewkesbury.
Until getting married and having 2 children, she was a keen horsewoman, but
now spends her time walking, gardening and is attending her second Floristry
course at the Tech. In 2005 she achieved a City & Guilds in Advanced
Floristry.

Lee - Operations Manager
Lee joined the garden centre group in January and works across all centres.
He is from Worcester, where he now lives again after many years living away
in London, Brighton, Sydney, and other places! While in Australia, he even
did a bit of work in an Australian garden centre. He has an NCH in
Horticulture and has worked at other garden centres such as Blooms and
Country Gardens. When not at work, Lee likes to spend time with his two
children, do a bit of gardening and DIY, and have the odd glass of beer.

Ann
- Giftware Supervisor
Ann joined Norton Garden
Centre last year after visiting the garden centre and seeing the changes.
She wished to be part of developing an up & coming centre. She enjoys
meeting customers and working with the Norton team. She has worked in the
garden centre industry for the past 15 years, specialising in the Gift and
Furniture sectors. Ann lives near Cheltenham in Bishops Cleeve, not far from
where she was born in Prestbury Village. She enjoys reading, gardening,
eating out and line dancing. |

Debbie
- Centre Manager and
Plant Area Manager
Debbie is from Gloucester, where she
still lives. She called into Norton Plantaria one day to buy a plant and
came out not only with a hydrangea, but a job. She comes from a sporting
family (her dad represented Gloucester at swimming and waterpolo) and has
played county standard hockey. She enjoys playing squash and her current
challenge is to run the London Marathon within the next couple of years.
Deb's also a keen supporter of Gloucester Rugby Club. She has a National
Diploma in Horticulture, has trained in garden design, and is currently
doing a City & Guilds course in Floristry. Debbie is the group's
longest serving member of staff.
