Herb Basil (Lettuce Leaved) Sally

A super-sized basil with purple leaves! Basil ‘Sally’ makes a lovely ornamental variety for the ‘Potager’, herb garden or summer containers. A large ‘lettuce-leaved’ variety sporting softly crinkled leaves flushed with dark purple it looks great combined with hot-coloured annuals such as Calendula. Add the big leaves of ‘Sally’ to sliced tomatoes and sprinkle with the calendula petals to create a tasty and colourful summer salad. The leaves have the same soft texture and intense, clove-like flavour as their smaller cousins but their large size makes them perfect for wrapping meat, fish or veg before barbecuing or roasting.
